Thank you for your interest in joining our team at Bourne Scenic Park! Bourne Scenic Park was founded in 1951 as an area for picnics and camping, with approximately 200 sites. From its inception, the park has more than doubled in size to its current 435 sites, 408 of which are electric with Rustic Cabins & Lodges. The Bourne Scenic Park is owned and operated by the Bourne Recreation Authority on land leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We are a family camping destination, taking pride in offering various activities to our campers throughout the season including entertainment every Saturday in the months of July & August. During our season which is the end of March-October we provide approximately 70 part time/seasonal hospitality positions.

JOB SUMMARIES

Grounds Crew

This position consists of moderate to heavy physical activity. Duties consist of (but not limited to): Mowing & Weed Whacking, camp site cleaning, moving picnic tables, raking, weeding, shoveling, picking up trash, spreading wood chips, trimming trees and shrubs, watering, painting, and other duties as assigned. Valid Driver’s License needed to drive park vehicles.

Park & Over Night Patrol

Patrol the entire campground and help maintain the rules & regulations. Assist any customers with park issues and help any camper to find and move into any site or assist with any issues they may have on their site. Assist all office, maintenance, grounds, recreation, pool & store personnel with any issues. Be aware of the posted Missing Child Policy, and assist any situation requiring Police, Fire or Paramedics. Be aware of all visitors and customers and making sure that all cars have the proper tags. Make sure any major issues get written up in our Log Book and left for the Facility Supervisor for review. Valid Driver’s License needed to drive park vehicles. Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing and RV’s is recommended.

Gate House Personnel

Responsible for manning the gate house and making sure that all customers entering the campground have the proper pass. Assist the office with all customers checking in and expediting all campers arriving to the staging lanes. Responsible for charging the appropriate amount for all products and maintaining the gate house register bank and receipts. Assisting Office, Patrol & Overnight Staff with all park issues. Communicating all extenuating circumstances and directions to arriving emergency personnel. Valid Driver’s License needed to drive park vehicles.

Guest Services

General duties include, utilizing our reservation system, extensive phone contact, guest reception and hospitality. This position requires good communication skills, teamwork, the ability to multi-task and diplomatic skills when dealing with conflict resolution. Individuals will be trained in the proper opening & closing procedures. This position maintains communication with grounds & maintenance crew, patrol & gate house personnel. Candidates who posse and outgoing warm and engaging personality that can work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being a part of a team will be a good fit.

Recreation Crew

We make an effort to provide every camper a variety of enjoyable activities suitable for all age groups. A job in recreation can be ideal for you if you like dealing with people of all ages, being artistic, engaging with adults and children, being outside, and having a good time. It is essential to have a creative and engaging personality, organizational abilities, good work ethic and overall, a positive attitude. Recreation is a seasonal job working the months of July and August, including weekends (Holiday weekends- Memorial Day, Labor Day and Columbus Day) Standing for the whole shift (especially holiday weekends) may be necessary for this position.
